Giving back to
our community.
Our SCR pillars
LGS's social community responsibility is built around four pillars — philanthropy, social innovation, community involvement and a sustainable business outlook. We believe a healthy business grows alongside a healthy community.
Philanthropy
Cash and in-kind donations to causes and community projects in Uganda.
Social Innovation
Partnering on programs that create lasting livelihood opportunities.
Community Involvement
Annual service events, ongoing volunteering and skills-based volunteering by our staff.
Sustainability
Tree planting and environmental initiatives that protect Uganda's landscape.

Skills that build incomes.
Our core community responsibility activity is engaging Ugandan youth and community members in livelihood skilling — soap making, candle making and tomato sauce making — in partnership with the Ubuntu Livelihoods Skills Initiative.
In December 2019, LGS provided all the training materials for free as we trained community members in candle making and Ugandan youth in liquid soap making, working alongside Ubuntu's staff.
Planting trees across Uganda.
We support tree-planting activities throughout Uganda — restoring landscapes, supporting biodiversity and offsetting the environmental footprint of our industry.
